AUSTIN’S ROAD TO EAGLE
Hi, I’m Austin.
I’m a senior in high school and recently earned the rank of Life Scout. I’m a member of my high school’s band (Marching Band and Wind Ensemble). I also like to hike and enjoy working on our project truck. After high school, I will join the United States Marine Corps.
I started scouting as a Cub Scout, earning ranks from Bear to Webelos to Arrow of Light. I crossed over into Scouts in 2018 and have learned a lot from my fellow Scouts and Scout Leaders in Troop 245 and Troop 532.
I’m working hard to earn Eagle Scout rank. I have just under 4 weeks to achieve my goal and need your help with my Eagle Scout project!

MY
PROJECT
I’m creating a sign structure for Church at Cahaba Bend to display community and church announcement banners.
Currently, the church has several t-posts near the road that they hang banners on. This new sign structure will be constructed using 6×6 posts with a decorative overhang and will stand nearly 9 feet tall. We’ll finish the structure with landscaping so that it blends in with the current entrance to the church.
I estimate that this project will cost approximately $2,500—lumber and supplies, auger rental, landscaping materials, volunteer refreshments.

I plan to complete my project in 3 phases:
- Fundraising, logistics, and purchasing.
[All donations are on behalf of the Church at Cahaba Bend in support of this Eagle Scout Project. Any funds leftover will be given to the church.] - Digging holes and setting posts in concrete. Cutting wood to size off sight.
- Construction and assembling structure. Finishing with landscaping.
